oh oh! Brewers starter Dave Bush to visit with Doctor

Brewers injured pitcher Dave Bush made his second rehab start Wednesday night at their AA affiliate in Huntsville. After getting hit somewhat hard and giving up 5 earned runs in 3 innings he complained about "arm fatigue". This is the same complaint that he voiced prior to going on the DL in the first place. He is to visit with doctor on Friday to see exactly what is going on. Spot starter Mike Burns has been slated to take Bush's position in the rotation. Burns is 2 and 2 on the year and had a decent last outing.

To put this is perspective, the Brewers starting rotation isn't exactly stellar. Last I saw, they were 13th in the NL in ERA. While not a great stat for judging the complete composition of a ball club, the ERA is troubling when lumped with an inconsistent offense that has resulted in the Brewers scoring 411 runs while giving up 416. Prior to All-Star break the Brewers won 3 of 10 and the discussion was centered upon the return of Dave Bush to the rotation and the re-emergence of Manny Parra in the rotation that would cure some of the more recent pitching problems. Of course, during this time the bull pen had started to tire and was having some issues holding on to leads. Looks like this plan is put on hold for the foreseeable future. I just hope this doesn't force GM Doug Melvin to overpay for starting pitching.
